Peter Doherty: 'The Fantasy Life Of Poetry & Crime'
Doherty in top form
It's hard not to fall under the spell of Peter Doherty. As a young boy he was known for being intelligent, poetic, flamboyant and everything a person could dream of. But he headed straight for a turbulent life full of sex, drugs and rock & roll. He also became friends with the late Amy Winehouse, was with Kate Moss for a while, performed with Elton John at Live Aid, ...
In the meantime, he has been coloring our musical life for more than 20 years. In the late 1990s he formed The Libertines with Carl Barât. Debut album Up The Bracket broke with the britpop of Oasis (of whom he was a big fan) and Blur and paved the way for bands like The Arctic Monkeys and Franz Ferdinand. Good times! He later formed Babyshambles. Also with this band, he made a record for eternity, Down In Albion, with instant classics like 'Fuck Forever' and 'Albion'.

As a solo artist, he is no lesser than his old bands. His solo debut Grace/Wastelands produced another classic: the single 'Last Of The English Roses' effortlessly stands up to the best work of The Libertines or Babyshambles.
In the meantime, a few albums have already been released. Doherty walks around this globe almost sober these days. And with a new record: The Fantasy Life Of Poetry & Crime, due for release March 18 on his very own Strap Originals label. Check out his new single 'You Can't Keep It From Me Forever'. We can't wait to see what it will bring... a Doherty in top form!
