HUSH - Henri's Dream Machine * Zonzo Compagnie

A musical portrait about composer Henry Purcell (for 6+)
Zonzo Compagnie has mastered the art of creating stimulating children's performances that immerse you in the creative universe of a striking composer. After Bach, Miles Davis, Thelonious Monk, Luciano Berio and John Cage, it is the turn of the English Baroque composer Henry Purcell.
Henry watches the spectacle as a spirit from a miniature version of an old theater. Then a singer opens up the gates to your imagination and carries you into dreamy visuals or 'masques' that Purcell created for the theater. We hear the echo of Shakespeare's Midsummer Night's Dream and The Storm, followed by King Arthur and Queen Mary. Until HUSH reverberates and we are silenced.
Purcell's music dazzles in unique arrangements skilfully weaved by an accordionist and a lutenist. With melodies and chords, they burst open the baroque landscape of the seventeenth-century composer. In order to fully interpret Henry's magical universe, a Belgian-Canadian team also focuses on a wonderful, multimedia experience.
A Zonzo Compagnie co-production with Les Festivals de Wallonie, Opéra de Lille, Concertgebouw Brugge and Het Laatste Bedrijf.
With the support of La Maison qui Chante, Flanders, the Flanders-Québec cultural cooperation agreement, the Flemish Community-French Community cultural cooperation agreement and the Creative Europe program of the European Union.
