Foyer Matinee: Susanna
The Norwegian singer Susanna Wallumrød is known as the founder of ‘Susanna and the Magical Orchestra’ (2000), her duo with pianist Morten Qvenild. ‘Wild Dog’ is her eighth album so far, if you include the three albums with ‘Susanna and the Magical Orchestra’, her album ‘Jeg Vil Hjem Til Menneskene’ and the recent ECM album with Giovanna Pessi.
Susanna is praised for her interpretations of well-known songs like Jolene, Hallelujah and Love Will Tear Us Apart. She has also proved to be a unique songwriter with a very personal style. Her performance lingers in the mind. Not only does Susanna’s captivating voice grab the public’s attention, her concerts are pure magic. A whole Sunday on cloud nine …
