Flying Horseman is Bert Dockx’s post folk blues band. Their second record, ‘Twist’ met with universal acclaim: “for enthusiasts of terrifying beauty” – “a diamond that grows brighter with each listen” – “Flanders’ most interesting contemporary rock musician”.
On his third, upcoming record, Dockx puts his trust in producer Koen Gisen once again. His dark, emotionally filled voice is complemented with the siren hymns of the sisters Loesje and Martha Mathieu, resulting in heartfelt poetry. The lo-fi musical arrangemenets create a colorful and rugged landscape, not unlike the ones conjured up by Bonnie ‘Prince’ Billy, Bill Callahan and The Velvet Underground.
Last May, Dockx set the Handelsbeurs ablaze with the psychedelic jazz of his other band Dans Dans. We expect nothing less from Flying Horseman.
