Altın Gün / Mehmet Erdem
Turkish alternative rock
Pink Floyd on the saz. This is what the bassist Japser Verhulst thought Turkish psycho-rock sounded like. He was utterly enchanted by it. Together with Altin Gün he returns to the 1960s and ‘70s for a refreshing blend of Turkish folk, psychedelia, funk and rock.
Mehmet Erdem is a much-loved singer and musician. With his mature music, low voice and charisma, he is continuing his family’s tradition. He has three albums to his name and composes soundtracks for Turkish films, for which he has received several awards, including the Altin Portakal for the Best Film Music.
