In this project, Greek singer Vassiliki collaborates with famous Greek and Turkish musicians to present refreshing interpretations of a range of songs from Asia Minor and the Aegean Sea.


Vassiliki lives in Istanbul, where she collaborates with numerous ensembles as a vocalist and singer-songwriter. She also both writes and translates poetry. She unites musicians with a shared artistic vision, steering well clear of musical stereotypes.

Balkan Ekspres combines cheerful Balkan music and rebetika with immeasurable energy and modern arrangements. The group also serves up Turkish and Greek covers, creating a sultry Mediterranean ambiance with touches of reggae, funk, pop and folk. To cap it all, the charismatic Greek bouzouki player Orhan Osman steers everything in the right direction.
