Intimate concerts in an imaginary courtyard

The Handelsbeurs opens its doors to the public again! Dive into the summer together with a series of intimate concerts. The concert hall transforms into a green oasis for the occasion, complete with plant jungle, softly singing birds and subdued lighting. Welcome to the Secret Garden of Ghent.

Steiger - new album

If And Above All (2017, El Negocito Records) and Give Space (2018, Sdban Ultra) prove anything, then it is that Steiger is not just a band, but also a continuous work-in-progress. Searching for the boundaries of jazz, the band enthusiastically dives into contemporary music, electronics, pop and free improvisation. Yet they remain essentially true to the progressive basic principle of the genre; that of flexible transformation.

Their new album The New Lady Llama (April 2021, Sdban Ultra) refers to the urge to create a new sound. Steiger as a storyteller, losing himself in imagination, and that at a time when the absurdity of fiction is being overtaken by reality.

Livestreams via Sound of Ghent

The Handelsbeurs focuses on ambitious live streams via Sound of Ghent, a platform we developed ourselves.
