Intimate concerts in an imaginary courtyard

The Handelsbeurs opens its doors to the public again! Dive into the summer together with a series of intimate concerts. The concert hall transforms into a green oasis for the occasion, complete with plant jungle, softly singing birds and subdued lighting. Welcome to the Secret Garden of Ghent.

Naima Joris

Think of Electro-Shock Blues, One Last Laugh In A Place Of Dying and Skeleton Tree and you know that grieving the loss of a loved one often produces brilliant art. They are often black-rimmed, intense songs that try to give a place to the pain and sorrow. Fragile and personal stories that strike a universal chord and from which you as a listener can draw comfort, understanding and strength.

Naima Joris' debut EP says a lot with few words. Five pure songs reduced to the core. Songs that are sparse with language and sound and that do not shy away from silence. That is precisely why they come in all the louder.

Program

Naima Joris
Naima Joris (voice, keys), Niels Van Heertum (eufonium, trumpet), Lara Rosseel (bass), Vitja Pauwels (guitar), Tijl Piryns (drums)
