Roel Dieltiens (cello) & Wibert Aerts (violin)

powerful, subdued

Hungarian and Czech souls

The outbreak of WWI meant that Kodály and Bartók had to temporarily halt their collecting of folk music. After one of their last outings to the Hungarian countryside, Kodály wrote his masterly duet for violin and cello.

In addition to this expressive work, Roel Dieltiens and Wibert Aerts will be presenting works for one or two players by Hungarian and Czech contemporaries.
