Reijseger Fraanje Sylla (cd-release)

jazz, world music

New album

The Dutch cellist Ernst Reijseger is a true phenomenon. He gained name and fame in the legendary Clusone trio and with numerous other international projects, including many for the films of German director Werner Herzog.

One of his most controversial trios is the collaboration with the lyrical pianist Harmen Fraanje and the Senegalese vocalist / percussionist Mola Sylla. Together they have already released two highly acclaimed albums with the renowned label Winter & Winter. This third pitch also promises to be a musical frenetic and virtuoso party. 'The perfect amalgamation of jazz, African songs and classical music', said Nord Sea Jazz.

Deceptive in its blend of folkloric naiveté, structural sophistication and improvisational élan, Deep Down truly sounds like no other recording, as romantic classicism intersects with African culture and jazz-centric improvisation.
