A melting pot of songwriters

What if you put a bunch of songwriters on stage together? An evening full of spontaneous musical magic and cross-pollination? Bright Lights Sessions puts it to the test.

Each edition there are different musicians, but always in the same concept. In the afternoon everyone comes together with their own songs. Together with the backing band, melting pot versions of each song grow. The concert follows in the evening.

Bright Lights Sessions provides an outlet for the many talent that walks around the world of pop, rock, folk and indie, across band boundaries. It is a haven for experiment, mutual inspiration and fun.

This edition

After eight editions at Trefpunt in Ghent, the caravan now stops in the Handelsbeurs, including on the stage:

  • Meskerem Mees
  • An Pierlé
  • Nele De Gussem (Uma Chine)
  • Rose Denayer (Rosa Butsi)
  • Gertjan Van Hellemont (Douglas Firs)
  • Gianni Marzo
  • Laura Cortese (Laura Cortese & the Dance Cards)
  • and Michiel Libberecht (Mooneye).

The latter wrote his song Bright Lights during the previous edition, just before the start of the first lockdown.
