Alexander Melnikov (piano)

Three keyboards on stage

Modern grand or pianoforte? The Russian pianist Alexander Melnikov knows the two worlds through and through. For this recital he has gathered three keyboards around him.

He demonstrates the character of each instrument on the basis of familiar works from the writing for piano. What are the challenges and differences in articulation, use of the pedals and dynamics?
