Sarah Ferri (Sarah Ferri)
After the succes of her first album Ferritales (2012) Sarah Ferri is coming out with new material. On Displeasure the sunny swing jazz makes room for melancholic souljazz and R&B.
UP TILL NOW
After being support act for Michael Kiwanuka, Caro Emerald (AB), Jools Holland (Arenberg Antwerp & Beursschouwburg Bruges) and Simply Red (Sportpaleis) and a year as Artist in Residence in AB, Sarah Ferris first album Ferritales was released on Universal. The album was Sarah’s breakthrough, thanks to great reviews (Humo, De Standaard, Knack, …) and the single ‘On My Own’, a real summer hit.
Sarah Ferri grew up in a warm Belgian-Italian nest. Fascinated by the unique singing styles of Ella Fitzgerald, Billie Holiday and Nina Simone, she started writing creative, willful songs. Their dark, fairylike character was gradually influenced by the naked honesty of seventies folk and sunny gipsy jazz swing from the fifties.
