This concert takes place at De Centrale

Oriental chamber music

As the child of a travelling musical family, Tristan Driessens learnt to play the oriental oud. With the Soolmaan Quartet he unites Turkish scales, classical music and jazz to create an epic and ornate idiom in which improvisation is the linking element.

The Secret Trio brings together three exceptional musicians with roots in Turkish, Armenian and gipsy music. Together they seek out traditional melodies that are a combination of the improvisation of the Middle East, the dance rhythms of the Balkans and Western elements from classical music and jazz.
