Marc-André Hamelin (piano)

contagious, powerful

Who is Russian Samuel Feinberg?

What the Canadian Marc-André Hamelin most likes is to be led down the untrodden paths of piano writing. He looks for less well-known compositions from the late 19th and early 20th centuries, preferably the most challenging works. In this way he introduces us to the Russian composer Feinberg.

S. Feinberg

Pianosonata No. 1 in A major opus 1 (1915)
Pianosonata No. 4 in E-flat minor opus 6 (1923)

L. van Beethoven
Piano sonata No. 23 in F minor opus 57, 'Appassionata' (1804)
R. Schumann
Fantasie in C major opus 17 (1836)
